Kamen Rider Wyburn Design Works 01 - "Spike Ingram" (Sketch)

Humanized design for the adult, human Spike featured in Wyburn.

His last name in the human world, "Ingram", comes from two places: first, from the composer for the FiM OST, Daniel Ingram, and second, Jonathan Ingram from Kojima's Policenauts, which was a big inspiration for this design. Also, there's the fact that "Ingram" makes anything an Awesome McCoolName. ANYTHING.

Story-wise, Spike was adopted by a young couple when he was a baby, found abandoned near a lonely road. His father, Matthew Ingram, is a former U.S. Army Ranger and participated in the Gulf War. His mother, Yukiko Ingram, is a Japanese-American woman, and is unable to conceive. Partly because of that, they decided to take the little boy, no older than three years, as their own child. By the time Wyburn starts, Spike is 20 years old in human years.

Will he be able to save the world of his first years, the world in which he was born? Will he be able to save the ponies he once knew and loved?

This is the sketch version, which will be scrapped later....when my tablet comes out of the repair shop, that is.

Also, that's yet another preliminary design for Wyburn's helmet. I still haven't finalized a design I feel completely satisfied with for his whole suit and armor, so it might be a while before we see that.

I wanted to make Spike have some sort of facial hair, what with his canon love for moustaches, yet look youthful. So I gave him a chinstrap.

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic belongs to Hasbro.

NOTE: Submitting to the Protect Spike Group because their humanized folder needs more love. Will exchange this one with the colored version once it's done.

This has received no favs? How is that even POSSIBLE? D:
I had a feeling Spike's hair would look like that :)

Probably because a) Wyburn isn't very popular and b) It's a sketch rather than a full work.

I'm hoping that drawing character designs and the like will help gain Wyburn a bit more of exposure, though.

Hmmm...I got an idea, my friend.

Ya see, I am friends with a guy who has made Super Sentai/Kamen Rider base sprites. If I asked him, he could be able to make a pixel Wyburn and Spike :D

How does that sound?

Sounds good, albeit I think I've finally made a sketch of Wyburn's final design. So once that gets up, what with my tablet being out of the repair shop now and all, we could ask him. How does that sound?

Sounds like a great idea :)
I think Wyburn deserves more attention than he has already
